There are a lot of points where you’re going to be asked to write a speech and even speak in front of a crowd. One of the most basic of things you may be asked to do is to speak in front of an audience at a wedding. If you’re the godfather of a bride, you’re going to be asked to say something, even if it’s a little more than a toast. If that scares you, or you simply don’t know what to say, don’t worry. Do not panic. Just breathe, and calmly understand that you can do this. Not only that, you are going to get help. The following tips and tricks will help you learn how to write a sponsor to bride wedding speech.
Tell People Who You Are
Not everyone in the audience is going to know who you are. Tell them who you are and why you’re there speaking. You should talk about how you know the bridge, the family, and that you know of the groom as well. Tell people what your experience is like with love and how you’re married or not, etc. You should also thank the parents and bridge and groom for the opportunity to be a part of their lives etc.
Talk About The Responsibility of Godfather
The next thing that you should do is talk about how you came to be godfather of the bride. Also, talk about how special the bride is, and how you have seen her mature into a good woman. Talk about a story where you were with the bride and you had a good time, and saw that special spark in her and her family. You should be courteous and even show a little emotion about how grand your life is for knowing the bride and the family. You can even tell a story of love and honor about your own life, or go with the Holy Bible if you’re a believer. Either way, you will want to talk about being a godfather and how special it is to be a part of the family in this capacity.
Wish The Future Well
As you go along with your speech, make sure that you wish the bride and groom a happy marriage. Be nice about the future, and talk about how love will carry them through the future. You should talk about how marriage is work, but with love, anything is possible and that the two are going to be great together and you already know it.
Close With A Toast
As you close, you should look to give a toast. If you are not giving your speech during the reception or where you are going to toast, then you can always toast yourself. Just bring up the glass and say something like, “with all that said, I like to toast the bride and groom”, and then raise your glass and that’s it. The goal is to make them feel special, and you can do so with the tips mentioned above.
